"My era was my guide", said Marcel Rochas about his fashion sense. An early genius, Rochas opened his first couture salon in Paris at the age of 22. Almost simultaneously, he began designing fragrances. It was 1925, and the decade was "roaring"...jazz, sports cars, the art deco movement, and an emphasis on youth. It was in this spirit that Rochas changed the way women dressed, taking them out of wool functionality and into silk glamour, and he found loyal clients for both his gowns and his fragrances among the likes of Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, Katherine Hepburn, and Mae West. |

Introduced in 1994, Tocade by Parfums Rochas, is pure Rochas in modern-day style - a glamourous, innovative, rose-vanilla-amber fragrance that is enticingly soft, sweet, and powdery. Created by Maurice Roucel for Rochas, Tocade (French for "flirtation") is often described as an evening or romantic fragrance, but I like it anytime!

Tocade's fun and pretty bottle, designed by Serge Mansau, is an adaptation of big-sister Femme's feminine contours, given a light-hearted twist with it's colorful collar and amusing little hat. Each size appears in a different color.

Tocadilly, launched in 1997, is the sister fragrance to Tocade. Created by Maurice Roucel, Tocadilly is a soft and sensuous fruity-floral fragrance for the "younger woman who is not afraid to enjoy life", the modern woman who is the true queen of her domain.
Top Notes: cucumber, lilac, hyacinth, pear, mandarin, The bottle, again by Serge Mansou, is presented in bright Harlequin colors of lilac, turquoise and anise green. The packaging is designed to resemble a chess board, and this theme was continued through the advertising campaign which depicts a seductive chessboard queen. | ![]() |
